It’s not long until the Catalan students and teachers arrive in Helsinki and our exchange begins. Here we present you a few tips before you pack your bags.
The majority of our activities include some sort of physical exercise, so be prepared for that. You can see the whole programme for the week in Helsinki, by clicking the navigation bar above. In addition to being prepared for physical activities, bring your swimming suit with you, as you will have a chance to go swimming at least twice during your stay here in Helsinki. For winter swimming, it might be good to have flip-flop sandals or woolly socks. For all the other physical activities, you don’t need to have any special clothing. It’s perfectly fine if you can only move around and stretch a bit in your clothes.
The weather in Helsinki is most likely rather freezing in February, so wear warm clothes. We strongly recommend you to bring a warm hat and mittens. Bring good, and warm, walking shoes with you as well, as you’ll probably do a bit of walking here. We’ll be using the public transportation a lot (and you’ll get a five-day ticket for that) but still there will be some walking, too. Unfortunately, we don’t have any snow yet, but things might change rapidly as well, and who knows, maybe it starts snowing next week.
Can’t wait to see you all here!
Yours sincerely,
Antti
